Daniel Johnston Free Show

Celebrated American songwriter Daniel Johnston is set to play a special free show tonight (November 3rd) - with Hot Club De Paris as his backing band.

Daniel Johnston is one of the most unique talents in America. Blessed with artistic gifts, his lust for creativity is matched by periods of mental instability.

Suffering from schizophrenia, Daniel Johnston's battle with the illness was documented in a recent celebrated documentary. However his music is the singer's greatest gift, with a new album gaining rave reviews.

One of the most pop orientated albums in his career, 'Is And Always Was' is a massive creative triumph. Daniel Johnston has rarely sounded so coherent, with his songwriting on wry and witty form.

As ever namechecking The Beatles, Daniel Johnston is set to head to the hometown of his heroes later today (November 3rd) for a very memorable show.

Due to perform as The Masque in Liverpool, the singer is set to play a free show with local boys Hot Club De Paris as his backing band.

Part of Liverpool Music Week, the show is a very special one off experience. Fresh from releasing another sterling EP, Hot Club De Paris are stunned and honoured to be asked to play with Daniel Johnston.

In a statement Hot Club De Paris bass player Paul Rafferty simply said: "This show will fucking rule."
