Crystal Stilts UK Tour
Brooklyn group return
Brooklyn group Crystal Stilts are set to make a return visit to the UK after announcing a series of UK tour dates.
Sales of fuzz pedals must be going through the roof in New York. Over night, the city seems to be infested with groups in love with shambling, proto-shoegazing sounds. Vivian Girls you may know, with their debut album being a constant spin on the ClashMusic stereo towards the end of last year.
But more and more groups are emerging who blend bubblegum melodies with ferocious guitar noise drenched in feedback. The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, for one, while School Of Seven Bells' appearance on the recent Sonic Cathedral collection links the New York scene back to its shoegazing homeland.
Crystal Stilts appeared at the tale end of 2008, playing a number of sensational shows. The band were quickly signed to Angular records, who immediately fell in love with their dark tales of New York life.
Already booked up for the Dot To Dot festival the band are planning a lot more UK jaunts throughout the year with their debut album 'Alight Of Night' already on the shelves of a record store near you.
The Brooklyn four piece show no sign of slowing down with a new single in the works. 'Love Is A Wave' doesn't appear on the band's debut album, and is a fresh and frothy blend of indie pop and all out noise.
Crystal Stilts release their new single 'Love Is A Wave' on May 25th. The band have confirmed the following tour dates:
May
22 London ICA
23 Bristol Dot To Dot
24 Nottingham Dot To Dot
25 London Luminaire
