Courtney Love Storms Clash Party

For our 50th issue launch

Grunge queen Courtney Love stole the show at the Clash launch party last night (May 6th).

Well it was always going to be dramatic. After forty nine issues, a few weeks of teasing and many long hours of hard graft the historic 50th instalment of Clash Magazine was launched last night - with a few special guests.

Taking over Camden's venue The Monarch the Clash team were down early doors, making sure everything was ready for the mixture of fans and artists who were descending on the event.

A vast array of star names soon arrived, with Clash covers stars past and present making themselves known. Fans flocked into The Monarch too, to see our much debated 'mystery headliner'.

Making a return visit to London after her recent triumphant album showcase, Courtney Love arrived to huge cheers from the crowd. Strapping on her guitar, the Grunge queen showed that she remains a rock goddess blasting through material from throughout her career.

The singer was on resplendent form, joking with the crowd and shrugging off the attentions of more excitable fans. Mixing material from her new album 'Nobody's Daughter' with a few classics, Courtney Love demonstrated that despite the controversy she is still a wonderful and engaging artist.

Elsewhere, fans indulged themselves in a few special DJ sets with members of the Clash team being spotted in the booth. Having rocked crowds across Europe and beyond, the Clash turntable mafia took control to ring in the wee small hours with classic after classic.

Stay tuned for a full report and exclusive photos from the event!
