This year's BBC Electric Proms is set to be the biggest and best yet, and has just expanded its bill yet again to include legendary British group Cornershop and newcomer Lowkey.
Cornershop were amongst the best known of a wave of groups in the 90s who blended the British and Asian pop music scenes. Their smash hit single 'Brimful Of Asha' remains their biggest hit, and was inspired by one of the star's of the Indian pop scene in the 60s.
Still going strong, Cornershop remain as provocative and downright tuneful as ever and their set at the Electric Proms will be one of the highlights of the festival. Joining the band will be the hotly tipped MC Lowkey - the frontman of Mongrel, an act made up of members of Arctic Monkeys, Reverend and the Makers and Babyshambles. He will be accompanied on stage by special guest John McClure.
Cornershop will play the following dates:
October 26th - Barfly, London (Tickets)
