Cornell For Led Zeppelin?
Rumors Surround Audioslave Man
Former Stone Temple Pilots and Audioslave singer Chris Cornell has denied being approached by Led Zeppelin to replace Robert Plant but insists he would join the group if asked.
The rock singer has spent the best part of two decades touring the world, and would be a vastly experienced candidate for the role. Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones recently revealed that if original singer Robert Plant turned down the chance of a re-union the remaining members would replace him.
Since then the rumor mill has churned out numerous candidates for the job, including Jack White and Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge. Chris Cornell's name has also been named as a possible replacement, leading the singer to tell MTV News that "I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be."
He continued saying "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true."
Steven Tyler of Aerosmith is the latest musician to reveal he has jammed with the reformed Led Zeppelin though insisted that it was just "for fun".
