Coldplay To Take Break
Album sessions postponed
Globe trotting superstars Coldplay have cancelled plans to get back into the studio in favour of taking a break from their schedule.
Since the release of their recent album 'Viva la Vida Or Death And All His Friends' Coldplay have been launched in the stratosphere. Topping the charts across the globe, the album was one of last year's best selling records.
Led by Chris Martin, the group have barely stopped since. The band released the mini album 'Prospekt's March' soon after, containing material from the 'Viva La Vida' sessions which didn't make the album.
Coldplay then took off on a massive world tour. Currently completing the Australia and New Zealand leg of their tour, the band had planned to get straight back into the studio. However, these plans have been shelved in favour of a well earned break.
In a new interview guitarist Johnny Buckland revealed: "We ended up doing much more touring than we originally planned so there's no time to do proper justice to a new project. And anyway people may need a bit of a break from us.
"We're taking a little break and let's see where we get after that. We've got a lot of ideas but we want to find a new way to go and that may take some time."
The musician also discussed the band's much talked about military jackets. He added to Time Out Dubai magazine: "Guy (Berryman) came up with the direction. Then we all got together in our studio to work on the outfits. We had someone who helped us make the jackets and trousers. We made them ourselves. We really wanted this whole album to be homemade again, we wanted to take it back and have it all come from us."
