Coldplay have unveiled the supporting cast for their forthcoming batch of European shows.
One of the biggest bands on the planet, Coldplay’s upcoming European tour takes in some massive venues. Unveiling full details of the support cast, the band have decided to rope in some old friends and allies.
The full support cast makes for varied reading. Returning with her second album, Welsh pop singer Marina & The Diamonds will join the tour, while Scandinavian performer Robyn will also take part.
Old friends Ash will join the tour, with their back catalogue retaining a glistening charm. Finally, Odd Future member turned R&B outlaw Frank Ocean is set to take part, playing some of the largest shows of his career to date.
The tour is the band’s biggest live venture since the release of their new album ‘Mylo Xyloto’ last year. Speaking to Good Morning America recently, Chris Martin revealed that he regrets giving the album such an obtuse title.
“It’s just something that we thought looked really good” he explained, “but everywhere we go around the world people pronounce it in the most crazy ways and we’re beginning to regret it now.”
Long since sold out, Coldplay’s tour plans are as follows:
May
29 Coventry Ricoh Stadium
June
1 London Emirates Stadium
2 London Emirates Stadium
4 London Emirates Stadium
7 Sunderland Stadium of Light
9 Manchester Etihad Stadium
10 Manchester Etihad Stadium
