Coldplay have confirmed their support act for their North American Tour this year as Welsh soul singer Duffy.

It will be the singers first jaunt in north America, which is hoped to break the singer into a new market, with Coldplay already a well established worldwide act. The tour is set to kick off in San Diego on the 9th October.

In further Coldplay news, the band have been the subject of a scathing attack form U.S band Mindless Self Indulgence at today's Leeds Festival. The band's frontman Jimmy Urine, barked "We are Coldplay.. Coldplay sing piano rock and fuck Gwyneth Paltrow.." at the Festival crowd. The singer then launched a bizarre rant about Britpop, yelping "We had Tupac [Shakur] and Biggie [Smalls] fucking shooting at each other. What did you have? 'Ooh, Damon Albarn's so cute!'”..Festival reports claim.

Coldplay have yet to reply to the remarks, but with Mindless Self Indulgence's singer being called Jimmy Urine, we're sure there's plenty of comebacks to be had.
