Band win clutch of awards
British stadium filling rock group Coldplay left last night's Grammy Award ceremony clutching a number of awards.
Last year's album 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends' established the band as sitting amongst music's elite, topping the charts across the globe.
Nominated in several categories, the band won three awards at the prestigious ceremony. The group claimed 'Album Of The Year', while lead single 'Viva La Vida' won two awards - 'Song Of The Year' and 'Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals'.
"Thank you so much, we've never had so many Grammys in our life," Martin said when accepting the award. "I'm gonna tear up".
Coldplay beat off competition from Kings Of Leon, Kid Rock, Metallica and The Raconteurs to scoop their prizes. The band performed on the night, giving a spectacular rendition of 'Viva La Vida'.
