Coldplay Grab Bat For Lashes
Latin American tour confirmed
Globe trotting stadium rock giants Coldplay have added Mercury nominees Bat For Lashes to their upcoming Latin American tour.
Bat For Lashes are one of the country's most groundbreaking acts. With their debut album being nominated for the Mercury music prize the pressure was on songwriter Natasha Khan for the group's follow up.
However Khan delivered in some style with 'Two Suns'. A deeply ambitious set it rewarded fans' patience with a stunning set of songs and was duly nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.
Sadly the group missed out on the award, but they have been given a slot on an upcoming tour with Coldplay. By now one of the biggest bands on the planet Coldplay have decided to end their 'Viva La Vida' world tour in Latin America.
Opening in Argentina on February 26th the band will wind their way around Southern and Central America. Running throughout February and March next year, Coldplay are set to finish their run of shows with a gig in Mexico.
Of course, ClashMusic was there for the opening night of the 'Viva La Vida' tour in Los Angeles - click here for a review!
Meanwhile Coldplay have confirmed an appearance on 'The Simpsons'. Perhaps the ultimate accolade, the band join three members of The Beatles and U2 in appearing on the legendary show.
Due to air in the United States on January 14th, the show will be one of Coldplay's last major appearances before heading back into the studio.
