Coldplay For Bilbao BBK

First headliner confirmed

Coldplay have been named as the first headliner for Spanish festival Bilbao BBK.

Held in Spain, Bibao BBK is part of a new breed of continental festival. Long lagging behind British events, festivals on mainland Europe have moved forward introducing inventive new measures.

Located in the Spanish countryside, Bilbao BBK expanded last year to incorporate more acts and more fans. Previous editions included appearances from Pearl Jam, Primal Scream, Depeche Mode and more.

Fast emerging as one of mainland Europe’s top festivals, Bilbao BBK has confirmed a headline appearance from Coldplay in 2011. The British stadium giants are working on a new album, and recently broke cover to play two special Christmas shows.

Held in aid of charity, the band packed in the crowds for the intimate gigs. Delving into their back catalogue, Coldplay also hinted at the new material with recording sessions currently ongoing.

The band are widely tipped to drop their new album in 2011, meaning that Bilbao BBK crowds could be treated to an exclusive airing of fresh material.

As a special bonus, festival organisers have confirmed that the first 1000 tickets for this summer’s event will be priced at just £75. Available through the usual ticket outlets, the three day pass includes camping.

An absolute bargain, the limited offer is already selling fast – fans wanting to take part should act quickly!

A three day festival located just ten minutes from the city itself, Bibao BBK is part of Spain’s ongoing arts revival. Now a centre for modern art, Bibao boasts some fantastic architecture as well as being a stone’s throw from the beach.

Bilbao BBK is set to take place between July 7th – 9th.
