Coldplay For All Points West

New Jersey event expands

One of the biggest music festivals in the United States has expanded yet again with New Jersey's All Points West confirming Coldplay as headliners.

Taking place in Liberty State park, this is only the second annual event that has taken place. All Points West has swiftly turned itself into one of the biggest and most prominent music events of the summer season. Its bill contains many exclusive performances alongside breaking acts, as organisers aim for an eclectic bill that is still packed with big names.

Coldplay are only playing a very select batch of festivals this summer. Already confirmed for Roskilde in Denmark, the Grammy award winning group are in huge demand. Their performance at All Points West should be one of the highlights, but the supporting cast contains some very special names.

Brooklyn trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs are due to release their new album 'It's Blitz' soon, and the band will unveil the new material with a no doubt spectacular performance. Joining them will be hip hop dons Beastie Boys, currently on a nostalgia trip with their seminal album 'Paul's Boutique' being re-released.

Newcomers Vampire Weekend are set to play at the event, as they begin writing the follow up to their celebrated debut album. A mixture of indie and afro-beat music, the group are one of the most charming new acts in America.

British indie giants Arctic Monkeys are also set to begin their assault on the United States with a performance at All Points West. The group are preparing to unleash their third Josh Homme produced album later this year, which could see them become household names in America.

All Points West takes place between July 31st - August 2nd.
