Coachella Founder On Line Up
McCartney, Morrissey on event
This year's Coachella Festival looks set to be the best yet, with Sir Paul McCartney, Morrissey and Amy Winehouse amongst the act confirmed to perform.
Set in the Californian desert, the massive event has grown to become one of the top festivals in North America. Experts at persuading bands to reform, there had been rumours Pavement would play the event. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but don't give up hope!
Founder Paul Tollett revealed in a new interview that he had been longing for Sir Paul McCartney to perform for some time. "Paul McCartney has been on my list of something I would love," Tollett told NME. "I think it's taken years before we made the radar of an artist like him."
The organiser also revealed he is confident that Amy Winehouse's personal demons are behind are, and that she will be able to pull off a stunning performance. "Seems like Amy's doing well now, from all accounts," he said. "The last show she did out here was at Coachella in 2007 in a tent. She's too big for that now. She'll play on the main stage before The Killers."
Coachella is set to take place between April 17th - 19th at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California.
