Land of Kings is back for its fifth year, and Clash are thrilled to be putting on yet another show-stopping party in the heart of the Dalston kingdom.
Taking advantage of that all-important Bank Holiday Monday to recuperate, the festival will be raging in full fury on Sunday 5th May, hijacking the Eastern basement dens and cultural hubs that Kingsland has to offer.
And for the best in bass, off-the-richter sub movements and frankly dangerous frequencies, the Clash party is where you’ll need to be. Last year Clash presented the illustrious but lost story of the Four Aces club, a seminal reggae and rave club that ran for 33 years, whilst 2011 saw the Ragga Twins and Shut Up and Dance teach a starched lesson on how Hackney was the birthplace of jungle.
2013 is looking equally bass-centric. Clash’s own Mr Mafro will be firing up the decks, providing more bass to skank to than a fishmonger. Expect an assault from dub, reggae and roots, as well as house and jungle – a veritable bass examination. Also providing some solid tunes will be Hannah Holland – Batty Bass boss and a reflection of the melting pot that is London club culture. Her high-octane energy set will pay homage to stripped back house, tech and the best in party vibes.
Poised to mutilate tunes into one another, Hackman is to step up to the decks to spin tunes that represent the changing landscape of UK sound. A man with his finger consistently on the musical pulse, he’ll be sure to deliver an unmissable set.
And joining them will be Dark Sky, South London’s production unit with an unquenchable thirst for rhythmic perfection. Darting across UKG, 4/4 house and experimental territories, the trio will be slamming the royal rave into fifth gear.
So make sure you step into Clash’s rave den this year for a taste of fierce party hits and growling bass tones. It’s looking to be unmissable.
