At Night & Day Café, Manchester...
New Young Pony Club

After a great show at Manchester's Deaf Institute last month with Swiss Lips playing to an energetic hometown crowd, Clash is excited to announce that 2007 Barclaycard Mercury Prize nominees New Young Pony Club will be playing for us at Manchester's historic Night & Day Café venue on July 19th. Tickets are only £5.00 and are still available here…

The dance-rock outfit formed in 2004, bonding over a love of post punk and new wave sounds. Limited edition release single ‘Ice Cream’ sold out in just three days, which then led to a worldwide record deal with Modular later in the year. Their debut album ‘Fantastic Playroom’ came out in 2007 and was met with large critical acclaim, leading to the Mercury nomination. On the road the band have supported an array of acts including Lily Allen and the Klaxons and are sure to put on a great show in Manchester.

New single ‘Hard Knocks’ is the first taster of what’s to come from the group’s third album and can be downloaded for free while you pass the time before coming to the Manchester show and hearing the album previewed live before everyone else catches on! Support for the show comes from brooding synth-popper’s The Voyeurist, whose previous Manchester show was reviewed by Clash, Birmingham’s post-punk electro outfit Victories At Sea, who’ve also been Track Of The Day on the site, and U.V. who’ll be opening.

Get yourself a ticket before it’s too late!
