Clash Of The Titans - Trailer

Myths & Monsters
Clash Of The Titans
It’s spring season for remakes…here’s yet another 80’s family film reimagined for the CGI generation. The original, whilst not nearly as good as Jason & The Argonauts was the last hurrah for stop motion special effects supremo Ray Harryhausen. Directed by Louis Leterrier who previously made The Incredible Hulk, the film was originally set for standard release a the end of March but it was later announced the film was being converted to 3-D and released on April 2. Bandwagon anyone?

The screenplay is loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus (played by Sam Worthington) which in a nutshell is about his quest to rescue Andromeda, who’s been chained to a rock (long story) and to make life difficult his father, the god Zeus (Liam Neeson) has elected to put a few obstacles in his way, such as having to capture Pegasus the winged horse, slay Medusa, the snake haired Gorgon and defeat a fearsome water monster, the Kraken. All in addition to fighting the dark forces of Hades, god of the underworld, played by Ralph Fiennes. Classicists shouldn’t expect too much accuracy but it looks like a fun film to pass the afternoon.
