It’s Record Store Day on Saturday 20th April – which means that there will be all sorts of tasty new releases on the shelves of your local wax-and-plastic-platters emporium. Special limited-run editions, rare reissues, coloured-vinyl collectibles. Plenty, indeed, to tuck into.
Clash has been on the case with RSD 2013, and has contributions from both a participating store and an individual releasing something special for the day on our online pages.
You can read about BBC Radio 1 DJ (and writer, promoter, record label owner) Jen Long about her own RSD memories, misty though they might be (blame the booze, not the event), over here. Her label, Kissability, releases its first 12" for RSD.
You can read about Flashback, one of our favourite London record stores, and what makes them tick, here. They, too, have some plans for RSD 2013, and their own memories of past celebrations.
And you can check out Clash’s own cream of the RSD crop – some of the most head-turning titles released for RSD 2013, including Miles Davis, Mystery Jets and MGMT – here.
We hope you manage to pick up a few choice items on 20th April – and if you’re hungry for more Record Store Day 2013 information, including news on one-off in-stores and other events near you, check out the official RSD website.
