A unique collaboration has taken place between The Cinematic Orchestra and one of Britain's most forward thinking film collectives. The collective, called Up The Resolution, have used excerpts from the Cinematic Orchestra's album “Ma Fleur” as inspiration for a 12 minute, two-part film. Entitled “To Build A Home” it follows the final hours of a couple's life together. The completed film, and the story's climax, will be released in April 2008 as an extra on the group's “Ma Fleur: Live At The Barbican” DVD.
Beautifully shot on location in Cumbria this promises to be a unique and very moving mixture of sound and film, transcending the boundaries of the “music promo” to create something of lasting force.
