Chicago dance pioneer Chez Damier is set to play a one off London show courtesy of Apogee as part of Upfront Project this Friday (November 2nd).
Hallowe'en isn't just for kids, y'know. Promoters across the country are busy cooking up something special, something for fans to really sink their teeth into. This Friday (November 2nd) Apogee are set to take control of South London venue Fire once again, promising a bill which focuses on cutting edge material.
R&S affiliate Pariah is set to drop by, while Will Saul, Casino Times and Medlar are all taking part. Perhaps the most striking addition, though, is Chicago figure Chez Damier. European shows from the producer are pretty rare, making this slot even more special.
A pivotal figure in the evolution of house and techno, his tasteful sets are in demand across the globe but the producer has plumbed for South London as an appropriate way to celebrate Hallowe'en.
Clash asked Apogee resident The Pushamann for his thoughts on the addition: "Great artists dont compromise and you only have to look at Mr. Damier's back catalogue to realise this. A true pioneer of everything deep, soulful and groovy which in turn has helped to define house music and make the 4/4 rhythm a timeless genre defying masterpiece".
Here's 'Teach Me, Keep Me'.
