Disco icon added to line up

Disco icon Chaka Khan is set to perform at this summer's Lovebox weekender.

Sad times for disco fans. The past few weeks have seen both Donna Summer and Robin Gibb succumb to cancer, robbing the genre of two of its most potent voices.

Thankfully, a few fantastic disco exponents are still fighting fit - and most of them are descending on London this summer. Lovebox is set to celebrate its tenth birthday in style, inviting along some disco icons to start the party.

Chaka Khan is the latest addition to the bill. Famed for her outrageous persona and larger than life voice, the singer will bring hits such as 'I'm Every Woman' and 'Ain't Nobody' to the Victoria Park weekender.

Joining an ever expanding bill, Chaka Khan will perform alongside a number of other disco greats. Grace Jones is set to appear at Lovebox, with the Studio 54 icon still a dynamic, intense performer.

Elsewhere, Nile Rodgers will the hits of Chic to life onstage at Lovebox while modern practitioners such as Horse Meat Disco are set to get behind the decks.

Now a mere 23 days away, headliners for this year's Lovebox include Hot Chip and Friendly Fires, with Lana Del Rey set to help bring down the curtain on Sunday (June 17th). Other names on the bill include Booka Shade, a Rinse FM takeover and a Hessle Audio showcase featuring Pearson Sound, Ben UFO and Pangaea.

Tickets are on sale now.

Lovebox runs between June 15th - 17th.
