Cee-Lo Green has a habit of making controversial statements, but the 'Crazy' singer's latest diatribe is surely set to land him in seriously hot water.
Speaking on Twitter last night, Cee-Lo decided to tackle the issue of consent – and appeared to suggest that rape only becomes rape if the victim is conscious.
"If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously," he argued, before adding: "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!"
Bizarrely, the singer then argued: "When someone brakes on a home [sic] there is broken glass where is your plausible proof that anyone was raped."
The comments come as Cee-Lo Green pleads 'no contest' to charges he supplied a woman with ecstasy without consent in 2012.
The woman claimed that she woke up next to the singer with no memory of the preceding evening – Green’s lawyer said they had "consensual relations". The singer has been sentenced to three year's probation and must serve 45 days community service.
Reacting to criticism of his views, Cee-Lo Green then apologised for his views being "taken so far out of context" before deciding to delete his entire Twitter account.
Finishing, the singer said: "I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it.."
