Twin talents team up

Shy and retiring meets loud and exhibiting - Cat Power is due to head out on tour with one time Hollywood star Juliette Lewis.
Real name Chan Marshall, Cat Power has come a long way in recent years. Born to a blues musician father, the singer spent her early years travelling around America, surrounded by music but never settling.
Becoming a cult favourite amongst New York musicians, Cat Power eventually signed to Matador but her attempts to tour were dogged by intense stage fright. The singer battles nerves onstage, frequently freezing in the glare of the public's attention.
Cat Power had a breakdown in 2006, but after a spell in rehab bounced back with her longest tour to date. Forming new backing group Dirty Delta Blues Band the singer released an album of covers titled 'The Greatest' to widespread acclaim last year.
In a recent interview with Spin Magazine the songwriter claims that her new album will be self-produced. "One song is called "Leopard," I used to sing it when I was 26. There's another song, a spiritual song called "Mountaintops."
"And there's a really sweet song called "Funny Things" that's like a little kid's tap-dance song about having special secret thoughts... And then there's "Silent Machine," which I actually wrote a long time ago. There's another song called "Oh Time." It's about my ex and it's about forgiveness. My friend Susanna always cries when I play it."
A new tour sees this naturally shy musician paired with one of life's exhibitionists. Juliette Lewis has performed the rare feat of moving between Hollywood and the Billboard charts, jettisoning her long time band The Jicks for her new album.
Produced by the Mars Volta's Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, new album 'Terra Incognito' uses another band The New Romantiques and contains some of Lewis' most impressive songwriting to date.
Also confirmed for the tour are Transatlantic new wave legends The Pretenders. Formed by American exile Chrissie Hynde the London based band are still going strong after thirty years - albeit with Hynde as the only constant member.
Cat Power / Juliette Lewis / The Pretenders are set to tour throughout the United States over the summer.
