Carl Barat Solo Show

Libertine supports Glasvegas

Carl Barat played his first show since the split of Dirty Pretty Things last night (January 8th) when the songwriter hopped onstage to support his friends Glasvegas.

Barat is currently without a band after the split of Dirty Pretty Things at the end of 2008. Believing that the band had run its course, Barat & Co. decided to part ways, splitting at the top of their game.

Glasvegas are currently on tour in the United States, where they are making serious inroads with their gloomy Scots anthemics. Close friend Carl Barat has joined them for the tour, and played a nine song set blasting out tracks from throughout his career.

Backed on by his own strumming on electric guitar, Barat opened with the first Libertines single 'What A Waster' at the San Francisco popscene venue. Playing a variety of tracks from both The Libertines and Dirty Pretty Things, Barat seemed relaxed and was on good form throughout, taking time to chat with the audience.

Carl Barat played:

'What a Waster'
'The Man Who Would Be King'
'BURMA'
'Blood Thirsty Bastards'
'Ballad Of Grimaldi'
'Music When The Lights Go Out'
'France'
'Deadwood'
'Time For Heroes'
