Camp Bestival Sells Out

All weekend camping tickets gone

The organisers of this summer's Camp Bestival have been given a boost, with all weekend camping tickets selling out in record time.

Camp Bestival is the little sister event to the Isle Of Wight's Bestival. Small yet immaculately formed, the event gathers an electic bill alongside a huge variety of non-musical entertainment to make for a real family orientated event.

Set in Dorset's Lulworth Castle, at Camp Bestival kids under 13 are allowed to attend for free. Organisers have gone a long way to cater for the little festival goers, with Camp Bestival providing over 100 different activities for free.

For slightly bigger kids, the event has gathered an extremely varied line up. PJ Harvey recently returned to her partnership with John Parish, constructing the raw and ragged album 'A Woman A Man Walked By'.

The local lass is set to perform her only solo set of the summer at Camp Bestival, with an engaging yet warm performance expected. Joining Harvey on the bill are a wide variety of talents including make up clad electro mad case Drums Of Death and bluegrass covers act Hayseed Dixie.

The winner of the 'Best New Festival' at 2008's UK Festival Awards, Camp Bestival has proved to be extremely popular with music fans. With five weeks to go until the event all weekend camping tickets have sold out, making this a record for Camp Bestival.

Organiser Rob Da Bank said in a statement "Wow, we sold out! Big up respect to all the mums, dads, kiddywinkles, rebellious teens and hangers on that got a ticket and thanks for supporting the Camp Bestival massive."

"From PJ Harveys only UK solo show to Bon Iver, Mercury Rev, Chic and Tinchy Stryder the music is all over the shop in a good way and bung in SpongeBob, River Cottage, National Ballet and Mr Tumble and we've hit on a weird but surprisingly attractive formula. See you next month".

Rob Da Bank of course is a man who knows a thing or two about festivals. The DJ and Sunday best owner is set to collect his memories of festivals past and present into a new book, which includes anecdotes from Camp Bestival and its older sibling Bestival.

Camp Bestival is due to take place between July 24th - 26th.
