Camp Bestival Line Up

One of last year's unexpected treats is set to return with Camp Bestival announcing details of its 2009 event.

An offshoot from the ever-successful Bestival event, Camp Bestival is a bit sized instalment. Last year was a massive success, boasting sets by Chuck Berry amongst others and scooping the 'Best New Festival' gong at the UK Festival Awards.

Amongst the exclusive sets confirmed for this summer is returning chanteuse PJ Harvey's only UK solo set of 2009. Returning with a new album soon, this is a rare opportunity to catch one of music's most arresting performers in her natural environment.

American singer Bon Iver will also play the event, while soul and funk legends Chic and Candi Staton will be sure to get the party started.

Founder Rob Da Bank had the following to say:

"As always Camp Bestival is about the family - young or old, parents or not - the River Cottage doing their first café at a festival is gonna be tasty, we launch our own Real Ale Festival within the festival, the English National Ballet and Silent Disco go head to head and I'm really pleased to welcome Let's Go Crazy, THE underage teen phenomenon for musically clued up kids. Last but not least our 100 free things for children has to be the bargain of the festival season. See you at the Castle overlooking the sea!"

Camp Bestival takes place at Lulworth Castle, Dorset between July 24th - 26th.
