Calexico Return With New Album ‘Edge Of The Sun’

Check out South American flavoured new track 'Cumbia de Donde'

A highly distinctive songwriting force, Calexico have spent two decades gently easing their way past barriers.

Unveiling new material at Glasgow's Celtic Connections festival, the band have now outlined plans for their next album.

'Edge Of The Sun' will be released on April 13th, guest performers include Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), Nick Urata (Devotchka), Carla Morrison, Gaby Moreno, Amparo Sanchez, multi-instrumentalists from the Greek band Takim, and Neko Case.

Ahead of this, Calexico have placed new track 'Cumbia de Donde' online. It's a South American flavoured return – heavily influenced by the primarily Colombian form of cumbia, the song has a radiant joy all of its own.
