Bruce Springsteen New Album Details

Well... from an iTunes link

New details of Bruce Springsteen’s new album may have emerged via an iTunes listing.

The past decade has seen Bruce Springsteen regain a sense of momentum. A hugely visible figure in American political circles, his high profile support for Barack Obama knew no bounds.

Focussing purely on music, Bruce Springsteen has delivered some of the most impassioned – and popular – records of his career. Now an iTunes listing in the UK has seemingly given away details of his new album.

Consequence of Sound point out that the UK iTunes site has a listing for a new Bruce Springsteen album. Named ‘Wrecking Ball’ the album will apparently be released on March 5th, and has the following tracklisting:

1 We Take Care of Our Own
2 Easy Money
3 Shackled and Down
4 Jack of All Trades
5 Death to My Hometown
6 This Depression
7 Wrecking Ball
8 You’ve Got It
9 Rocky Ground
10 Land of Hope and Dreams
11 We Are Alive
12 Swallowed Up (Bonus Track)
13 American Land (Bonus Track)

Produced by Ron Aniello, ‘Wrecking Ball’ apparently boasts appearances from Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello and former Pearl Jam drummer Matt Chamberlain.

Hollywood Reporter recently spoke to an inside source who had apparently heard the album in its entirety. “He gets into economic justice quite a bit. It’s very rock’n’roll. He feels it’s the angriest album he’s ever made.”

Judging purely by the song titles, the source could well have a point…

Elsewhere, long time Springsteen manager / spokesperson / eloquent fan Jon Landau told Rolling Stone that the new material is experimental. “It was an experimental effort with a new producer,” he said. “Bruce and Ron used a wide variety of players to create something that both rocks and is very fresh.”
