British Sea Power Working On New Album

New album under way

Indie stars British Sea Power have revealed that they had completed some 15 songs for their forthcoming fifth album.

British Sea Power are one of the most unusual acts in the country. Holding their own festival at the nation's highest pub, the band have also brewed their own beer which they sell after live performances.

The group's last album 'Do You Like Rock Music?' was an enormous success. Nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, British Sea Power were able to tour the nation reaching corners they had never encountered before.

On a jaunt to Ireland the band were shown the cult film curiosity 'Man Of Aran' which details life among a remote peasant community in the 1930s. Entranced, British Sea Power began working on a soundtrack for the silent film.

Released earlier this year, 'Man Of Aran' was more than side project. Containing some atmospheric music the band travelled around the country showing the film to stunned fans.

Now in a new blog posting British Sea Power have revealed that they are working on new material. Guitarist Noble claimed that the band have 15 songs finished, while producer Graham Sutton has confirmed his involvement.

"We are well into recording and writing our fifth album, and have over 15 songs on the go," wrote the indie star.

"Graham Sutton has moved into the rented farmhouse where (singer) Yan has been living the last year and it's all coming together piece by piece. We hand over bits of the jigsaw and Graham puts it together. The overall picture is slowly emerging."

Noble also revealed that British Sea Power had recently travelled to China, where they played on the Great Wall.
