Brian Eno Praises Warp Records

"I love Warp Records and I always have done"

Renowned producer Brian Eno has spoken of his respect for electronic label Warp Records.

Brian Eno and Warp Records would seem like a marriage made in heaven. The English producer is fond of work around concepts, producing central ideals which stem out into groundbreaking albums.

Meanwhile, Warp Records are also fond of concepts with their reputation for thought provoking releases. In a new move Warp have signed Brian Eno, with the imprint set to house the producer's new album 'Small Craft On A Milk Sea'.

Speaking to a German radio station, Brian Eno emphasised his respect for the label's output. “Well… I love Warp Records and I always have done. I like their, I like the kind of people they represent. I like the Warp ‘spectrum’ if you like" he said.

"Got quite a lot of Warp albums… And sort-of the next few projects I’m thinking about, seem to me like good projects for Warp to release.”

Naming his favourite Warp artists, Brian Eno revealed who he thought the label should sign next. "I like Aphex Twin. It’s funny I think… Well of course the other one that we were talking about this morning is Battles; who I’m very keen on, I’ve seen them play several times" he said.

"In fact I got them to play in… I got them to come to Australia to play in a festival I organised there. Yup, so I think those two, are sort-of typical Warp artists and… perfect; that’s the sort of pallet that I like. I think Warp really ought to sign Tony Allen, but they don’t realise that yet. Tony is a great musician.”

Meanwhile, Brian Eno has released a filmed interview with a journalist named 'Dick Flash'. Could it be Eno dressed up? Either way it's pretty funny. Check it out HERE.
