The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has revealed a funny story about Morrissey.

Both parties are on resurgent form, with The Killers and Morrissey both set to release new material this year.

Brandon Flowers reminiscent with Yahoo Music, explaining that he actually served Morrissey at a restaurant in Las Vegas when he was only 18 years old.

“(I) served him a mushroom pizza and Earl Grey tea, and I totally made an ass of myself,” he explained.

The reason? Well, lost for words Brandon Flowers simply blurted out: “mushrooms are really cool.”

Years later, though, the two crossed paths once again, this time with Brandon Flowers keeping his cool.

“I hung out with Morrissey at this hotel,” Flowers said, “I came in one night at around 11 and everything was kind of shut down, but there was this one little light in the restaurant.”

“I grew up just idolising him. I instantly got excited, obviously, and I ended up getting the courage to introduce myself and stay for a few hours out there with the Moz. It was an incredible experience. So I don’t know that I redeemed myself completely with this experience with him, but I tried.”

The Killers will release new album 'Wonderful Wonderful' on Friday (September 22nd).
