Cult American singer / songwriter Bonnie "Prince" Billy is set to release a new album drawing on years of live performances when "IS It The Sea?" hit shelves on October 20th.

The album features material written throughout the career of the songwriter, real name Will Oldham. Having used the Bonnie "Prince" Billy moniker for a decade now, this is presumably a good time for Oldham to release his first live album.

Recorded on his British tour in Spring 2006, the album features a band steeped in traditional music, and will be a typically sparse affair.

"Is It The Sea?" becomes the second album Bonnie "Prince" Billy has released this year - following on from the studio LP "Lie Down In The Light" which was released on May 20th in the US. Released through long time home Drag City, "Lie Down In The Light" featured guest singers such as Shannon Stephens and was Oldham's first full length album since 2006.

Bonnie "Prince" Billy will release his new live album "Is It The Sea?" on October 20th.
