First acts announced for 2013 festival

Reformed Britpop icons Blur are set to headline next summer's instalment of Oya.

Located in one of Oslo's oldest parks, Oya has gained a reputation for punching above its weight, for gaining headliners other - far larger - festivals couldn't hope to unveil. With 2013 fast approaching, the team behind the Norwegian event have unveiled the first names on the line up.

Blur are set to headline next summer's instalment of Oya. The group seem to be focussing on a number of European dates, having already confirmed high profile slots at festivals such as Belgian event Rock Werchter. Now the band are planning to perform in Oslo.

Blur will headline Oya, part of a wave of new announcements which also includes Stateside project Haim, fast rising newcomer Angel Haze and Icelandic word of mouth success story Of Monsters & Men. As always, Oya matches international talent with Scandinavian newcomers.

Norwegian artists such as John Olav Nilsen & Gjengen, Monica Heldal, Okkultokrati, Rebekka Karijord, Sandra Kolstad and Tønes have all been confirmed for next year's festival.

Always keen to look beyond music, Oya was recently named 'Greenest Festival in Europe' at the European Festival Awards 2010 and also the 'Green ’n’ Clean' award.

Oya runs between August 6th - 10th.
