Blur Scoop Festival Award
Glastonbury also bags trophies
Reformed Britpop gurus Blur were among the big winners at this year's UK Festival Awards.
Amid growing concerns over the British economy and the future of the music industry, this summer saw festivals across the country pull out all the stops to entertain fans.
With the pressure mounting, festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, T In The Park and more booked some stunning acts. Ending the year on a high, the UK Festival Awards took place at London's O2 Arena last week (November 19th).
Among the big winners on the night were Blur. The Britpop group returned this year with a small selection of dates including festival appearances at Glastonbury, T In The Park and more.
Storming the festival season, Blur's trip down memory lane has won them an award. Scooping 'Best Headline Performance' for their emotional Glastonbury performance it was the first in a sequence of wins for the Worthy Farm event.
Michael Eavis & Co. scooped 'Best Major Festival' at this year's UK Festival Awards, capping a spectacular return for Glastonbury after the criticism thrown at their 2008 event.
Amongst the more consumer friendly awards included 'Best Toilets - won by T In The Park - and 'Best Family Festival' which went to Camp Bestival.
The near legendary Camden Crawl won 'Best Metropolitan Festival while 'Best New Festival' went to Sonisphere.
