Bloom Unveil First Acts

Noah And The Whale and more to play

Bloom Festival has unveiled the first names on its bill for this summer's event with Noah And The Whale amongst those due to play.

A forward thinking festival Bloom has bagged the best acts from many different genres. Boasting everything from ska to folk and even drum 'n' bass the festival moves from the past to the future in the blink of an eye.

Amongst the first wave of acts confirmed for the Gloucestershire event are Noah And The Whale. The band soundtracked last summer with their lilting ukulele led anthem 'Five Years Time'. Fellow folkie type Laura Marling provided guest vocals on the song, just one of a number of tracks which made their debut album such a standout release.

The band will be joined by fast rising London electro star Esser. Combining street wise savvy and a lucid pop touch, Esser has been tipped by many to become a star before the year is out. Bloom has a love for dance music, and this year can boast some of the UK's top young producers.

Chase & Status have been making waves with their drum 'n' bass sounds, and the duo will be joined by London electro-indie types Filthy Dukes. Old heads Utah Saints will also be performing, and together with Tom Middleton will add a touch of experience to proceedings.

Glasgow based newcomers Drums of Death has startled audiences with his spectacular live show, proving that DJs don't just have to be bald men with a haunch. The electro guru will be joined by a host of newcomers as Bloom aims to promote the best in emerging talent.

With a wonderful setting and a line up that moves between generations and continents in a footstep, Bloom looks to be a great weekend out.

Bloom festival takes place between August 14th - 16th.
