Blondie In Forestry Show
New Wave icons confirm show
New Wave icons Blondie are to play a very special show as part of the Forestry Commission Live Music.
Blondie have long had a love affair with the UK. The band were a success on this side of the pond when they were virtual unknowns in the United States, turning singer Debbie Harry into an icon.
The rest of the world eventually caught up with the charms of Blondie, with the band scoring huge hits as well as branching out into disco, hip hop, reggae and more.
Reforming in the late 90s, Blondie turned back time with their number one hit 'Maria'. Since then the band have enjoyed a soaring tide of nostalgia, playing some of the biggest shows of their career.
Still a stunning live act, Blondie recently confirmed a special show in the English countryside. The New Yorkers are to take to the stage at Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire.
Part of the Forestry Commission Live Music initiative, the June 20th show is part of a summer long series of gigs. Timid trio Keane are also due to take part, showcasing material from their soon to be released fourth album.
Elsewhere James Morrison is set to perform, while Manchester group Doves will bring their epic sound to a show in Thetford Forest. With appearances from Status Quo and more during the summer it seems that the Forestry Commission shows are set to storm the summer.
