Bloc Party Video Revealed

British indie giants Bloc Party recently asked fans to film their London Olympia shows, and the resulting recordings have been released as the group's new video.

Bloc Party released their third album 'Intimacy' last year. The record came as a shock to fans, with 'Intimacy' being rush released as a digital download. The band's most adventurous recording to date, the album hinted at a renewed interest in electronic music.

As left-field as 'Intimacy' was, the album contained more than its fair share of trademark Bloc Party stompers attracting the attention of producers from across the spectrum of dance music. The band are no strangers to being remixed, but this time round decided to let producers re-work 'Intimacy' in its entirety.

New single 'Ares' is taken from the band's album 'Intimacy (Remixed)', and features the storming track given an overhaul by Villains. To coincide with the special release Bloc Party organised two shows in London's Olympia venue, and invited fans to film the performance.

The film from fans was then worked into a video, thereby remixing the gig itself. To making things even more, well, intimate the group took cameras onstage with them to ensure every perspective was covered.

The parent album 'Intimacy (Remixed)' gathers some of the finest producers around to retool Bloc Party's work. Containing mixes courtesy of Herve, Mogwai, No Age, Banjo Or Freakout and many more, the album shows an extremely different side to the group.

In the past Japan only remix editions of Bloc Party albums have been made available, with import copies of 'Silent Alarm (Remixed)' sneaking into the country. This represents the first time that Bloc Party have released a full scale remix album in Britain.
