Bloc Party Solo Project Details

Kele Okereke working on album

British indie giants Bloc Party are set to work on a series of solo projects, with Kele Okereke currently working on a new album.

Bloc Party have a right for some time off. Since their debut album 'Silent Alarm' dropped in 2005 the band have toured almost constantly, travelling the world and releasing two albums and a few singles in their spare time.

The continual treadmill of moving from tour to recording studio has taken its toll, with Bloc Party due to go on hiatus for a short while. The band have just completed 'Bloctober' their most extensive tour of the UK in some time.

With rumours of solo projects, singer Kele Okereke has been revealed as working on a new album. It seems that the frontman is set to continue in the electronic vein of 'Intimacy' with a collaboration with Scottish producer Hudson Mohawke mooted.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1Xtra the producer revealed that he could be set to work with the Bloc Party singer.

"It hasn't been finalised yet, but I'm doing a bit of stuff for Kele from Bloc Party's solo album," the producer said. "He's doing a record with one of the guys from Spank Rock."

The Glasgow based producer also revealed that he was set to work with Erykah Badu at some point in the future, though this could be mischief making on his part.

Bloc Party are no strangers to the dance world. The band have always enjoyed handing their material over to producers, with Burial famously taking on one of the group's singles.

With 'Intimacy Remixed' still fresh on the ClashMusic stereo, this new partnership could well spawn more musical adventures from Bloc Party.
