Indie kings Bloc Party have announced details of their third album "Intimacy", available to buy this Thursday (August 21st).

The shock move was announced in a web chat with fans last night (August 18th), with the new album "Intimacy" due out with little build up hype. Single "Mercury" was released last week, and has divided fans with its new electronic direction - they won't have to wait long until knowing if this extends to the entire album.

According to reports, "Intimacy" is available to pre-order on CD and Mp3 from the band's online shop. Fans have the choice whether to pay £5 for high quality mp3s (delivered on August 21st), £8 for a CD copy (delivered on October 27th) and £10 for a combined CD / mp3 bundle. The CD release will apparently contain tracks unavailable on the mp3 bundle release.

Recorded in two seperate sessions with Paul Epworth and Jacknife Lee, hopes are high over what will be one of the year's biggest album releases.
