Bloc Party Play In Airport

UK Group In German One Off

UK indie giants Bloc Party have played a very unusual gig - inside Berlin's historic Tempelhof International Airport.

The band are preparing to unleash the physical version of their third album 'Intimacy' - the record is already available as a download. Jointly produced by Paul Epworth and Jacknife Lee, it has been acclaimed as Bloc Party's most mature and varied recorded statement yet.

Bloc Party played in the Tempelhof's airport lounge on October 23rd, playing in full view of the airport's runway. The show was a massive success, with the band on electric live form. Lead singer Kele Okereke burst through security staff to sing album track 'Mercury' amongst the fans. Struggling through the crowd, the singer leaped onto the sound desk where he completed the song.

Despite the success of the show, this will be the first and last time that Bloc Party play the Tempelhof - it is set to be replaced by the new Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport.

Bloc Party played the following set:

'One Month Off'
'Hunting For Witches'
'Positive Tension'
'Blue Light'
'Halo'
'Song For Clay (Disappear Here)'
'Banquet'
'Signs'
'Better Than Heaven'
'Talons'
'This Modern Love'
'The Prayer'
'Mercury'
'Flux'
'Helicopter'
