Their first in two years
Bloc Party are set to end a two year hiatus with a short series of British tour dates this summer.
When Bloc Party finished their Bloctober tour in 2009, some fans feared for the future. Exhausted by near continual touring, the band decided to take a break before launching themselves into a series of new projects.
Resuming later last year, Bloc Party confirmed plans for a new album. Now the band are set to get back on the live trial after announcing a short burst of British shows. Announcing the tour online, Bloc Party wrote:
“Hello internet, I know it’s been a long two and half years since bloc party last performed in the UK. Well it seems that wait is over, we are happy to announce a short run of intimate shows for our friends in the UK and our friends in the US. We will be playing choice cuts from our new record as well as some more familiar jams. We hope to see you soon.”
So far only three dates have been confirmed, with Bloc Party due to play gigs in Glasgow, Manchester and London this June.
Tickets are on sale now via the Bloc Party website, with fans rushing to pick up passes for the band's first British shows in some two years.
After finishing the shows, Bloc Party will then head out on tour across the continent playing festival shows at Open'er, Bilbao BBK and more. Hitting the United States, the band will then finish the summer in Spain.
