Black Sabbath Re-Issue

Metal classic re-released

Metal icons Black Sabbath are set to re-issue their classic 1970 album 'Paranoid'.

Formed in Birmingham in the late 60s, Black Sabbath began life as a hard blues band before their music began to take on a twisted life of its own. After downtuning their guitars and installing Ozzy Osbourne on vocals the band rush released their self-titled debut album.

Surprised by the success they enjoyed in America, Black Sabbath quickly went back into the studio to record the follow up - 'Paraniod' perhaps the first true heavy metal album.

With its iconic lead single and a host of other classic tracks the album stormed the charts in the United States, whilst at the same time being lambasted by critics used to more polite noise.

Undoubtedly one of the most influential albums of all time, 'Paranoid' remains a stunning piece of rock music which broke with the blues-worship of many electric groups at the time to create something new. Inspired by horror films and vast quantities of drugs, something new and startling emerged that stills stands as a fantastic treat for the ears.

Black Sabbath release 'Paranoid' as a deluxe edition on April 6th.
