Billy Bragg Hails Obama

Brit Folkie Cheers Election Win

The tidal wave of musicians praising Barack Obama has continued with British folk legend Billy Bragg saying his win was "good for rock 'n' roll" in a new interview.

Billy Bragg wasn't content with sitting in Blighty writing articles on the US election - he took to the road to cheer on Obama and see for himself what an American election is like.

The singer was keen to stress the impact the election had on young Americans. "I've never seen young people so charged up, so engaged," he said. "I thought it might be to do with the release of 'High School Musical 3', but actually it turned out to be more about Obama.

"When they elect a president they elect a president for all of us. (Obama's victory is) good for America, it's good for the world, and it's good for rock 'n' roll."

Billy Bragg released his latest album 'Mr Love And Justice' earlier this year.
