Outkast rapper Big Boi is set to release his new album 'Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty' on July 6th.

With their 2003 album 'Speakerboxx / The Love Below' Outkast wrote themselves into history books. A double LP is remains one of rap's most left field statements, and deservedly won a Grammy award.

Since then, however, the duo have rarely worked together. The 2006 soundtrack 'Idlewild' is there only release, with Big Boi and Andre 3000 preferring to work apart on solo projects.

With a more straight ahead hip hop approach, Big Boi is set to break ranks first and release his new solo album. Signed to Def Jam, the rapper will release 'Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty' on July 6th.

Hugely anticipated, the new material features a raft of collaborations. With T.I. and Lil Jon dropping by to add some rhymes, R&B singer Jamie Foxx is also set to lend his vocals to the album.

Meanwhile, Outkast singer Andre 3000 has worked on some tracks sparking rumours of a re-union between the two. Indeed, Big Boi spoke about the possibility of new material in a recent interview, admitting that they have begun work on a new album.

Little has been heard of Big Boi's new material, which has been stuck in record label limbo for some time. However the rapper has begun streaming a new single which is a typically upbeat slice of hip hop.

In addition to this, Big Boi has also given away a free download from the album. Featuring Parliament / Funkadelic icon George Clinton the brand new track is available from his official website.
