Biffy Clyro Bring Reading 2016 To A Close

"Mon the Reading", indeed...

Biffy Clyro brought Reading festival to a close last night (August 28th) with a titanic headline set.

The Scottish group last played the epic event in 2013, and brought out all the stops to top that memorable performance.

Frontman Simon Neil clearly relished the set, echoing their 'Mon the Biff!' catchphrase by telling the crowd: “Mon the Reading!”

Speaking to the BBC before the set the trio explained that Reading has a warm place in the band's heart.

Guitarist James Johnston said: "To be asked (to headline) before was such a huge moment in the band's life. I think we have probably paid our dues, we've played all the small stage and worked our way up."

"It feels like there is a lot of good will from the punters that come here. We feel it is an opportunity to try and improve on what we did before, maybe we will pick up some new fans. It is one that has long been really close to our hearts.”
