Benicassim Finalises Line Up
Spanish festival ready to roll
One of Europe's premiere music events Benicassim has finalised its bill with the festival ready to open its doors.
Far away from the world of trudging through mud, a pack of lager on your back, Benicassim allows festival goers to soak up the sun while they absorb some stunning music. Just one part of a wide ranging cultural event, Benicassim is now celebrating its 15th birthday.
Currently organised by Vince Power - the boss of Mean Fiddler - the festival is rapidly growing into one of Europe's pre-eminent events. With a wonderful setting Benicassim boasts some truly spectacular headliners.
With Oasis planning an enormous British tour, the Manchester band aren't going to play just any old festival. The Gallaghers have agreed to perform at Benicassim and their odes to debauchery are sure to go down a treat with revellers.
Joining Oasis on the bill are Southern lords of indie Kings Of Leon. The band are currently basking in the glow of their album 'Only By The Night' and have just launched their own label. A thrilling live act, their set is certain to be a highlight of the festival.
Scottish indie gentry Franz Ferdinand are set to join the party, with Las Vegas icons The Killers also due to perform.
Organisers are continually adding to the bill, with reformed post-punk legends The Tom Tom Club due to drop by. Formed while on downtime from Talking Heads, the group's Compass Point produced album has become a cult favourite.
Other recent additions include Los Planetas, Birdy Nam Nam, Glass Candy and twee indie group The Wave Pictures. Signed to Moshi Moshi the band's song-a-day philosophy has seen them release two albums in under two years.
With tickets fast selling out, fans had better act quick in order to grab a slice of Spanish sunshine.
Benicassim is due to take place between July 16th - 19th.
