Belladrum Sells Out In Record Time

All weekend tickets gone

Highland fling Belladrum has sold out in record time, with all weekend tickets being snapped up.

Founded almost a decade ago, Belladrum has grown to become one of Scotland’s most unusual festivals. Held on a Highland estate, the award winning event seems to grow in scale and stature each year.

Tickets for the 2011 instalment went on sale a few months ago, with fans rushing to snap up weekend passes. If you decided to hang back, well, too late – organisers have confirmed that Belladrum has already sold out.

Having sold out two weeks before the show last year, we are delighted to be sold out nearly two months in advance in 2011,” said festival promoter Joe Gibbs. “We have been warning our regular audience for several months that this might happen but we are still concerned that some may have missed out; hence we are appealing to people who have spare tickets to offer them via the festival at their cover price plus any booking fee to people who are looking for them; we will not be charging anything for this service. In the case of people who have bought e-tickets and no longer require them, these can be refunded and re-offered via www.skiddle.com which will make a small transaction charge to the buyer.”

A family oriented event, Belladrum will be headlined by Scottish rock legends Texas and Deacon Blue. However on a more Clash tip Frightened Rabbit are set to perform, following their fantastic performance at RockNess.

Signing with a major label, the band are beginning to sketch out their fourth album which promises to be a breakthrough. Due to play the rather more intimate, scenic confines of Belladrum Frightened Rabbit head up a deeply eclectic bill.

Frank Turner is set to appear, while post-punk icons Echo & The Bunnymen will also perform. Little Comets are planning to make the journey North, while retro soul star Eli ‘Paperboy’ Reed will take part.

Mixing new talent with established names, critically acclaimed acts with guilty pleasures Belladrum has one of the broadest bills of any Scottish event this summer.

Belladrum takes place between August 5th – 6th.
