Beck Works With Charlotte Gainsbourg

American slacker pin up and Renaissance man of alt rock Beck is set to work with actress Charlotte Gainsbourg on her forthcoming album, it has been announced.

Charlotte Gainsbourg is the daughter of legendary French filth merchant Serge, a man who combined lewd innuendo and a unique pop vision. Daughter Charlotte is an acclaimed actress, working on the Dylan biopic 'I'm Not There' while also starring in the acclaimed drama '8 Grams'.

In a new interview Beck revealed that he has been collaborating with the French star in Los Angeles and in her native France. Beck's father David Campbell was recruited to arrange the strings for Gainbourg's last record, '5.55'.

"I was supposed to work on her last album but I couldn't get over there," Beck said on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic. "Now I'm working on her follow-up record."

Gainsbourg has previously collaborated with Jarvis Cocker, Air and The Divine Comedy.
