Beatles USB Stick Release
Entire back catalogue on nifty device
Fans of The Beatles will soon be able to enjoy the band's music on a quirky new Apple shaped USB stick.
The Beatles are back. With the re-packaging of their back catalogue the Fab Four have captured the hearts of the world all over again, with a new generation falling in love with the band's music.
However the group have struggled to deal with the growth of digital formats. Thanks to a lengthy law suit between label Apple Corps and Apple Computers The Beatles' music is not available on iTunes.
Negotiations between the two sides are ongoing, with the stakes thought to be too high to allow a stand off to continue. With the band's music already available as part of the new RockBand computer game the Fab Four have decided to launch an unusual new format.
The Beatles entire back catalogue will be released on a new Apple shaped USB stick. Containing everything from 'Love Me Do' to 'Your Majesty' the quirky release will be kept to a strictly limited edition.
Shaped like an Apple, the limited edition release contains 14 studio albums alongside CD 'visual elements', 13 mini-documentary films about the albums, replicated original UK album art, rare photos and expanded liner notes.
A new Flash interface will come specially loaded on the USB drive, with the 16GB USB’s audio and visual contents will be offered in FLAC 44.1 Khz 24 bit and MP3 320 Kbps formats, fully compatible with PC and Mac.
Only 30,000 will be made with 100 available to pre-order in the UK. Costing £200 each they aren't cheap, but the new Apple shaped USB drives are bound to become sought after mementoes.
