Beastie Boys Re-Issue
'Paul's Boutique' gets expanded
One of hip hop's greatest ever albums is set to be re-mastered when the Beastie Boys give their 1989 classic 'Paul's Boutique' the expansive treatment, it has been announced.
A stunning collage of samples and innovative raps, 'Paul's Boutique' follows on from 'Licensed To Ill' and found the group seeking acceptance as serious artists. Produced by the Dust Brothers, it contains an astonishing range of samples and remains a benchmark for hip hop.
Now 20 years young, 'Paul's Boutique' was a relative flop at the time yet remains praised by critics as one of the group's finest. The band announced the re-issue with a simple statement on their website saying:
"it's true, paul's boutique is turning 20! So we remastered the sucker".
Set to be released with a host of extras, details of which are sadly unavailable at the time of writing, this is a great opportunity to re-discover one of the truly great lost albums of the modern era.
Amazon lists the Beastie Boys' 'Paul's Boutique' re-issue as being available from January 27th.
