Beastie Boys MCA On Cancer Treatment

Beastie Boys rapper Adam Yauch has given a new interview in which he clams he is recovering well from treatment on a cancerous growth.

Beastie Boys were all set to return this summer. After some four years the trio had prepared an album of new material, with 'Hot Sauce Committee' rumoured to contain some of the finest beats the group had ever concocted.

But just a fans were preparing to begin queuing for the new release something unexpected happened. Adam Yauch, also known as MCA, issued a video statement to fans revealing that he had cancer.

Suddenly the jokers were silenced, with Beastie Boys struggling to deal with the shock news. 'Hot Sauce Committee' was immediately cancelled with all tour dates postponed until later notice.

Now Adam Yauch has given a new interview in which he claims his treatment has gone well. “I’m feeling fine now, after the surgery. But it’s definitely an interesting thing, you know?" the rapper told Movieline.

The Beastie Boys were forced to cancel a much vaunted appearance at Coachella earlier this year, with MCA hinting that they could perform in 2010. “Maybe so" he claimed. "That’s definitely something we’re discussing and trying to figure out if that makes sense. Believe me, it would be fun if it does come together.”

Probed on the eventual release of 'Hot Sauce Committee' the rapper claimed that the group were "just in the process of figuring that out now".

Beastie Boys have yet to confirm a new release date for 'Hot Sauce Committee'.
